NTHU Alumni spread around the world, grow and multiply without end. In order to unite the power of the Tsing Hua people and enhance the Tsing Hua brand value, the Association of NTHU Alumni has, as its main task, the service of its members and keeping contact with the alumni, thereby establishing bridges between the NTHU Alumni around the world and their Alma Mater.
The National Tsing Hua University Alumni Association officially launched its formal registration operations on December 17th, 1996. It has been more than 20 years since then. Under the leadership of successive Presidents, like Yuan-Tseh Lee, Chun-Shan Shen, Ming-Teh Hsu, Tzu-Chang Tseng, Yong-Fen Hsieh and Jin-Bu Tsai (according to the graduation year in order of succession) the spirit of the Tsing Hua people has been passed on.
The Association of NTHU Alumni expanded its Council Supervisory Board Organization in 2015. Currently, the Council has 27 directors and 9 Supervisory Board members, it began the appointment of a full-time secretary in the same year. In order to assist the growing number of alumni associations in various regions, since April 2018, there have been now, two full-time secretaries dedicated to the affairs of alumni associations.
The Association of NTHU Alumni, in addition to regularly organizing a series of activities such as the Alumni “Tsing Hua Hall of Fame” lectures, the Mei-Chu tournament (a sports competition between the NTHU and NCTU), the Summit Forum during the school's anniversary celebrations, the Overseas Alumni Sharing Conference and other large-scale events, it also subsidizes outstanding on and off-campus events, the Student Clubs and different competitions. At present, 38 Tsing Hua Overseas Alumni Associations or Liaison Offices have been established around the world, and there are 21 local major alumni associations and organizations such as the Tsing Hua Entrepreneur Network. On June 16th, 2018, the Central and Southern Alumni Association was established to build a complete distribution of domestic alumni associations. In 2019, it assisted in the preparation of the NTHU NA Foundation.
The goal of the Association of NTHU Alumni is to set up a global network of contacts, and at the same time deepen the ties with local alumni so that Tsing Hua people can enjoy the joy of running across an old friend in a place other than in one’s hometown and establish links with their Alma Mater to promote social progress.
